The First Survey of NAO graduated manual osteopaths

For the first time ever we have done a survey of National Academy of Osteopathy alumni for the year 2015. We will repeat this every year from now on.
We wish to thank all the NAO graduates who took the time to complete this survey. We know you are busy and we are grateful for your time.
Here is a brief highlights of the survey completed by both online as well as campus based Canadian graduates of the DOMP (diploma in osteopathic manual practice) program:

I Love my Students!

This morning came to work and one of my students, Dr Bashar Alazzam, MD surprised me with a gift. He took some photos of me last week, and he printed one and framed it!
This made my day!

Annual income of Over $150,000 per year

Did you know the NAO alumni survey 2015 reported that 11.1% of National Academy of Osteopathy graduates in Canada made over $150,000 in 2015?

I did it!!!!!

Finally after over 10 years, I am now officially under 100Kg. Today I am 99.4KG, less than 7 weeks after I started changing my life style by cutting meat, sugar, salt and fat from what I eat.
My first goal was to lose 10% of my body weight which I achieved within a month. The next goal was to go under 100kg, which I did today within 2 months :)
My next and last weight loss goal is go to 88KG, my ideal weight. I hope to achieve this within the next 6 months.
From 117.80KG on April 29, 2016 to 99.4KG on June 22, 2016.
The good part is that I enjoy what I eat. I eat how much I want and never get hungry or crave any bad foods. I lost craving the unhealthy food because I used self-hypnosis to make myself love healthy meals.
I also keep my metabolism high by being active during the day. Instead of 30 minutes of exercise at one time, I do a few minutes of exercise at different times during the day. this keeps my metabolism high. I also eat many small portion veggies during the day. This is also to assure that my metabolism remain high.
Living healthy is so much fun!

Free Lunch for my students

Today lunch was on us, our famous pizza day! But I did not even have one slice myself (trying to stay healthy!).

100% Annual Income Increase

100% of National Academy of Osteopathy graduates in Canada with prior health education (such as massage therapists, chiropractors and physiotherapists) increased their annual gross income after becoming a manual osteopath. 33.3% of them increased their annual income by 31 to 40% in 2015.

Happy Alumni

93.8% of Canadian NAO graduates in 2015 were happy with the osteopathic education they received at National Academy of Osteopathy.
98.2% of NAO graduates would refer NAO to others who wish to study manual osteopathy.

Our graduates live longer, live happier

A number of recent surveys and research by a leading US university (published by Time Magazine) indicates those with good income live on average 15 years longer than those with poor income in the United States.
About 1% of North Americans make over $100,000 in annual income per year.
11.10 % of National Academy of Osteopathy graduates in Canada made over $150,000 in 2015.
Additionally these individuals with high income are twice as happy as those with incomes of less than $40,000 per year. As we have always said money does buy happiness!
This survey also found that while the rate of divorce in North America is approximately over 50%, the rate for those in high income bracket mentioned above is just 19%.
We teach everything we know about business management and entrepreneurship to our students. This is the main reason why we graduate successful manual osteopaths.

Meditation for Business Success

You all know the benefits of meditation for the body and mind, its effect on improving health and the brain. However did you know even 5 minutes of meditation per day improves your creativity and focus?
You need creativity to come up with unique ways of improving your business. Being able to focus for a prolonged period is highly effective in finding solutions to your business problems.
Professionals who are creative and able to solve problems easily and effectively becomes highly in demand and quite successful in whatever they do.
This is why big companies like Google, Facebook and Microsoft have rooms dedicated to meditation and offer free meditation classes to employees as well. Many of their corporate meetings are held in meditation resorts.
For me, the best time to meditate is right around sunrise, when the orange glow brings with it the potential of a beautiful happy day.

Lost 22kg (48.50 pounds) so far (since April 29, 2016)

I need to lose 8kg more to reach my ideal weight of 88kg.

To continue losing weight it is important for you to keep your metabolism high. Starving yourself and lack of activity lowers your metabolic rate and then you will not lose any fat.

To keep losing fat you should eat often (small portions) during the day, snacking on carrots, etc and keep active during the day.

I know exercising 30 minutes a day could be hard. So what you can do is do 5 minutes of activity 6 times per day. This along with snacking on some veggies or yogurt would keep your metabolism high.

I am off to Spain today, but will not take my Taekwondo uniform with me as I plan to do alot of walking (ie shopping).

Madrid DPT Manual Therapy Practical Class

I am so happy to meet some of my doctor of physical therapy students who traveled to Madrid (Spain) to take the manual therapy practical technique classes of National University of Medical Sciences (Spain).

I love my students!

Benefits of being a university president

Today the hotel manager was speaking with me asking about how my stay was so far and if everything was to my satisfaction. When he found out I am president of a university in Madrid, he was so impressed that a Canadian has set up a university in Spain that he upgraded my room to a penthouse executive suite! This room has a living room and two balconies! I can see Valesquez street where our university is located from my balconies!

My bed is so large that 10 people can sleep on it!!!!!
The penthouse is on the 8th floor and to stay in shape I walk up and down all these stairs! I do not take the elevators.

What a small world!

I just found out this student of mine also studied in my father's school!

I am humbled to have the opportunity to teach a student who was also a student of my father decades ago. This Iranian doctor of physical therapy (DPT) student of National University of Medical Sciences (Spain), from city of Fouman had studied English in my father's private English school in Rasht (Gilan) decades ago.

And now I have the honor of teaching manual therapy to her here in Madrid. What a wonderful life. What a small world.

My Student in BC Summer Games

Congratulations to National Academy of Osteopathy graduate, manual osteopath Justin Frankson, DOMP (practicing in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada) for representing the profession of osteopathy in the 2016 BC Summer games.

It is the first time some of the athletes participating in these athletic events had exposure to manual osteopathic care.

This is a proud moment for the profession. And we are grateful to have such distinguished graduates who elevate the profession.
