Canadian Osteopathy College Found Guilty

The first osteopathy school in Canada known as CEO (Le Collège d'Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal) in Quebec and some of its teachers and students were found guilty and convicted for practicing medicine illegally which is a criminal act in Canada.

CEO is also known as the Canadian College of Osteopathy and Canadian School of Osteopathy in other Canadian provinces.

I am sad to see them become convicted. However I believe it is the duty of the school to ensure it, its teachers and students follow the established laws of the jurisdiction they work in.
We must all follow the law. There is no exception.

I always teach my students NOT to offer medical diagnoses as it is against the law in Canada and USA and a number of other countries.

Manual osteopaths can only offer osteopathic diagnosis, not medical diagnosis. They were found guilty of medically diagnosing conditions of the internal organs which is a controlled act.
This is a sad day for the profession.
